Steward's Report
A. Stewart, trainer of Tackifire, redeclared a new weight of 32.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Tackifire last raced at 31.1kg.
Plum Star was a late scratching at 1:55pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to a broken toenail on its left fore foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Bush Caviar.
Bush Caviar, Go Wild Phil and Tackfire were slow to begin. Bush Caviar and Go Wild Phil collided approaching the first turn. Argyle Diamond and Augusta Dreaming collided approaching the first turn. Bush Caviar and Argyle Diamond collided on the first turn. Bush Caviar, Argyle Diamond and Doomsday Clock collided approaching the home turn severely checking all three greyhounds; Bush Caviar and Doomsday Clock lost ground as a result. Bush Caviar raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Bush Caviar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Doomsday Clock was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
