Meeting Comments:

The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 86 due to the late arrival of trainer Mr. Malcolm Davis who experienced a vehicle breakdown en route to the track. As a result, the kennels closed at 2:04pm.

Stewards noted that there was no back straight head-on vision available for the entirety of today's meeting.

Chappy's Thief (performed below market expectations) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards questioned Mr. Bradley Chapman, the kennel representative for Chappy's Thief, after the greyhound led early before finishing unplaced in the event. Stewards noted Mr. Chapman's comments and directed that a urine sample be taken from the greyhound.

Sassy Spice – Late scratching at 1:38pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 77). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Aston Sheriff was quick to begin. She's Hard Work and Missin' The Bug were slow to begin.

Golden Lady was quick to begin. Aston Typhoon was slow to begin.

Tornado Jack raced wide in the home straight.

Misses Easy (collided with Golden Lady turning out of the back straight and subsequently tailed off) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right metatarsal fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race urine sample was taken from Radebe - the winner of the event.

Swanny River was quick to begin. Angelani was slow to begin.

Play Lab – Late scratching at 10:33am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr. John Jarkis informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown en route to the track. Stewards advised Mr. Jarkis that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.

Aston Marcay and In Secret were slow to begin.

Small Demeanour, Tom's Bourbski and Hello Cooper were slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Craig Burns regarding the racing manners of Tinker Goose approaching the winning post. Mr. Burns advised Stewards that Tinker Goose was stepping up slightly in distance today and having its fourth start back after a spell. Mr. Burns further advised Stewards that he believed the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post could be attributed to Tinker Goose tiring over the concluding stages of the event. Stewards noted Mr. Burns' comments and after viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, no further action was taken.

Urine samples were taken from Borough Cook and Crusoe Pearl upon arrival at the course.

Mr. Glenn Bahen requested an early race endorsement for Borough Cook. Stewards approved the request after an extensive examination prior to racing by the On–Track Veterinarian. Borough Cook will compete in early races until further notice.

Sylvan Lake – Late scratching at 5:10pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 77). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Denominator (lost ground turning off the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triceps muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
