Big Barking Bert and Demon Eyes were slow to begin.
Yeah Whatever, Black Tikka and Blink collided soon after the start. Black Tikka, Yeah Whatever and Demon Eyes collided approaching the first turn checking Black Tikka and severely checking Yeah Whatever and Demon Eyes, Yeah Whatever fell as a result. El Carado checked off Blink approaching the home turn. Influential Miss raced wide in the home straight.
Yeah Whatever was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left triceps, right wrist and right hind. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Blink was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained severe cyanosis and hyperthermia post race. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Thomson, the trainer of Blink and advised him that acting in accordance with GAR 74, Stewards direct that Blink must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
