Barbie Boy, Topeka and He's No Jet collided soon after the start checking Topeka and causing Barbie Boy to stumble and lose considerable ground as a result. Ceejay Whim, Flossy Thelly, Topeka and Soho Dingane collided on the first turn checking Flossy Thelly, Soho Dingane and Topeka. Soho Dingane checked off Flossy Thelly entering the back straight. Lioness Lulu checked off Speed Chill in the back straight. Ceejay Whim and Lioness Lulu collided on the second turn checking Ceejay Whim.
