Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Troy Dorrington regarding Flying Bessie's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Flying Bessie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Dorrington pleaded not guilty to the charge. Flying Bessie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards received a report that the muzzle of Get On Gizmo had become dislodged.

Shaka Big Chief (turned head inwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Kennel representative Mr. Michael Bewley declined the option to to have the greyhound re–examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Bewley regarding Shaka Big Chief’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Shaka Big Chief was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Bewley pleaded not guilty to the charge. Shaka Big Chief was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong only (first offence) and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Bali Nights (severely checked and lost ground on the first turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination was found to have a right-hind abrasion and injuries to the left and right back muscles. A 21 day stand-down period was imposed.

Go Jetters, Hotspot Hero, My Bro Who, Make Us Dream and Valletta Diva were quick to begin. Inward Harmony was slow to begin.

Hotspot Hero (severely checked and subsequently fell on the first turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left back muscle and left triceps and an abrasion to the left-fore. A 21 day stand-down period was imposed.

Mr. Thomas Boehmke requested an early race endorsement for Craig Keeping. Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian. Craig Keeping will compete in early races until further notice.
