Little Miss Rush and Nitro Rocks were slow to begin.
Benjamin's Cutie crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Get Up Sally, Black Barron Lad, Harry Horse, Benedict Geoff and Proud Dancer. Harry Horse, Proud Dancer and Black Barron Lad collided on the first turn checking Harry Horse and severely checking Proud Dancer and Black Barron Lad. Proud Dancer eased in the home straight.
Black Barron Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. S.Bonaccurso the handler of Black Barron Lad regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the boxes.
Proud Dancer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind paw. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Proud Dancer with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
