Steward's Report
Snitch Adams was slow to begin.
Lucky faltered turning into the back straight, causing Paw Barton to be severely checked and resulting in both greyhounds falling. These greyhounds underwent post-race veterinary examinations:
- Lucky was found to have a right hock fracture. Lucky was humanely euthanised.
- Paw Barton was found to have a left hip injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Darryl Connor regarding She's Extreme's racing manners entering the back straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Connor, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards took into consideration that Lucky and Paw Barton fell in front of She's Extreme and the effect this incident would reasonably have had on the racing manners of She's Extreme.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track turning into the back straight and deemed it suitable for racing.
