Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Hartland Prince.
Smokin' Gracie was quick to begin. Forgotten Time was slow to begin.
Smokin' Gracie (visibly eased and turned its head to the inside at the 50m mark) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock sprain. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Scott Melville regarding Smokin' Gracie’s racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Smokin' Gracie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Melville pleaded guilty to the charge. Smokin' Gracie must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
