Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 24.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 15.9 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Archer Nine and Hanna'a Avatar were quick to begin. Boston Legal was slow to begin.
Archer Nine (raced erratically over the concluding stages) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Brad Sands regarding the racing manners of Archer Nine over the consluding stages. After hearing submissions from Mr. Sands, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
