Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 20.9 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.9 degrees. Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 1, meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time, and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.
Endeavour, Pristine and Blow Torch were quick to begin. Aston Tamsyn was slow to begin. Gunai Maverick raced wide in the home straight.
A post–race urine sample was taken from Mav Reiko – the winner of the event.
