Steward's Report
Stewards opened an inquiry into the unacceptable conduct of Mr Paul Hammerstein following Race 11 on 05.11.2024. A charge under GAR 165(a) was issued to Mr Paul Hammerstein for engaging in conduct that is detrimental and/or prejudicial to the image and/or interest of greyhound racing. Mr Paul Hammerstein was found guilty and was fined $500 (third offence in one month).
Paw Eden was quick to begin. Blackl Noveau was slow to begin.
Solar Ebony, severely checked and fell turning out of the back straight, completed course, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abraded paw and webbing to the left front foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Hectic Harry, severely checked and fell completed course, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right metatarsals and a spike wound to the left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Black Noveau, trainers request, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left hind metatarsal. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Aero Express, racing manners first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Kevin Mugavin regarding Aero Express performance and racing manners on the turn out of the back straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Mugavin, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Aero Express unsatisfactory. Aero Express must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
