Steward's Report
A race day urine sample was taken from Grace's Entity at the trainer’s kennel earlier today.
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Major Franky.
Paw Mantra was quick to begin. Crimson Kit was slow to begin.
Major Franky (checked in the back straight and raced wide in the home straight) underwent a post-race verterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Crimson Kit (shifted wide, turned its head outwards and failed to pursue the lure in the home straight) underwent a post-race verterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. John Hickey regarding Crimson Kit's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Crimson Kit was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hickey pleaded not guilty to the charge. Crimson Kit was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (2nd offence) at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
