Steward's Report
Belle Riot and Heathcote Star were quick to begin.
Heathcote Star (marred Belle Riot approaching the first turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Craig Elliot regarding Heathcote Star's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123,Heathcote Star was charged with marring. Mr. Elliot pleaded guilty to the charge. Heathcote Star was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Paw Zachary (marred Heathcote Star in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury and left shin soreness. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Myles Delbridge regarding Paw Zachary's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Paw Zachary was charged with marring. Mr. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge. Paw Zachary was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
