Steward's Report

Pursuant to GAR 75(7), Steward Mr. B. Martin did not act in any official capacity for this event.

Gunai Maverick was quick to begin. Redback Express and Bushman's Damper were slow to begin.

Gunai Maverick (fell after the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Redback Express (severely checked in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right fibula injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Trainer - Mr Jordan Formosa, regarding the manner in which Redback Express raced in the home straight.  After taking evidence from Mr. Formosa and viewing all available video footage, in particular, the head-on vision, Stewards were satisfied that the greyhound received considerable interference from Pugsley and Crush It Girl on its outside.

Crush It Girl (raced wide and subsequently checked entering the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Pugsley (visibly eased in the home straight before turning its head outwards approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left metatarsal. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Jordan Formosa regarding Puglsey’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Pugsley was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge. Pugsley must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
