Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Joan's Gem.
Magic Dark Star, Aston Hornet and Tammy were quick to begin.
Mepunga Infrared underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following Race 10. Mepunga Infrared was found to have left shin soreness and a right calf muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Craig Solkhon regarding Mepunga Infrared’s racing manners turning off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Mepunga Infrared was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge. Mepunga Infrared must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
