Waikiki Pearl and King Plum were slow to begin.
Waikiki Pearl raced wide throughout.
Dream On Franky (visibly eased and pulled up approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Jimmy Holt regarding Dream On Franky's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Dream On Franky was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Holt pleaded guilty to the charge. Dream On Franky was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
