Pretty Pipa and Daintree Aster were quick to begin.
Lapis Lazuli was severely checked on the first turn and subsequently fell. Lapis Lazuli underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Pretty Pipa underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Nicole Lund regarding the racing manners of Pretty Pipa in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Ms Lund, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued.
