Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(6), Kennel Attendants Mrs J.Hooke and Mr D.Elliot did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Mighty Monarch (turned its head inwards in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race eight. Mighty Monarch was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr M.Bowerman regarding Mighty Monarch’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Mighty Monarch was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Bowerman pleaded guilty to the charge. Mighty Monarch was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
