Man Of Action – Late scratching at 2:12pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Jack Clarke was fined $100.

Mo City (racing manners in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 6. Mo City was found to have a whip injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr Bruce Jacobs regarding Mo City’s racing manners In the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Mo City was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Jacobs pleaded guilty to the charge. Mo City must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Swanny River – Late scratching at 1:40pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a left wrist injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the event, Lektra Sam collapsed in the catching pen. The greyhound was pronounced deceased by the On–Track Veterinarian. Routine samples were taken, and an autopsy will be conducted in accordance with GAR 43.

Supplementary Advice: 15/5/24 on Lektra Sam - Following a post-mortem examination the likely diagnosis was circulatory collapse and sudden death following acute haemothorax and cardiac failure. No prohibited substances were detected in the samples.   

We Are South – Late scratching at 2:11pm due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Ms B. Kinder informed Stewards that she had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Ms Kinder that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
