Different Here was quick to begin. Aston Geiko was slow to begin.
Lady Calamity turned its head inwards and marred Foxy Freckles in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have abraded webbings on both hind paws. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Sheldon Hamilton regarding Lady Calamity’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Lady Calamity was charged with marring. Mr. Hamilton pleaded guilty to the charge. Lady Calamity was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
