My Black Knight was quick to begin and Nuvola was slow to begin. Kid Kiddo, Wairapa Warrior and Star Of Orion collided soon after the start checking Wairapa Warrior. Kid Kiddo and Quark collided approaching the first turn severely checking both greyhounds and causing Quark to tail off. Nuvola and Star Of Orion collided approaching the first turn. Danyo's Boy crossed to the outside approaching the home turn checking Nuvola. I'm Someone galloped on the heels of My Black Knight on the home turn. Kid Kiddo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained grazing to it's left hind leg. No stand down period was imposed. Quark was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's right hind toe. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. A sample was taken from My Black Knight, the winner of the event.
