Captain Jones was slow out. Denise Bale and Double Bore collided soon after the start, checking Denise Bale. Mepunga Shiraz and Satellite Blues collided approaching the first turn. Captain Jones galloped on the heels of Satellite Blues on the first turn, checking Flat Out Freddy. Mepunga Shiraz and Double Bore collided approaching the home turn. Denise Bale raced wide on the home turn. Double Bore and Captain Jones collided approaching the winning post.
Mepunga Shiraz was vetted and was found to be injured in the right pencil muscle and will stand down from racing for a period of 14 days.
