Steward's Report
Special Value, Optimistic Star and Toopaeus Prince were slow out. Better State crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Rocky Roo Roo, Gaelic Ranger and Optimistic Star. Special Value contacted the running rail approaching the first turn. Tsunami Joe crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Rocky Roo Roo. Flying Dooley clipped the heels of Tsunami Joe approaching the first turn, checking Flying Dooley. Gaelic Ranger galloped on the heels of Flying Dooley on the first turn, checking Gaelic Ranger, severely checking Flying Dooley and checking Rocky Roo Roo as a result. Tsunami Joe and Toopaeus Prince collided several times in the home straight.
Special Value was vetted and after being revetted following event 7, it was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left thigh and back muscles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
