Steward's Report
Stewards withdrew Mum's Legacy at 6.04pm kennelling time after the greyhound was presented for racing 1.4 kgs above its last start weight. Acting in accordance with GAR47, Stewards fined Trainer, Mrs. T. Jones, the sum of $50 and will stand Mum's Legacy down from competing for 10 days.
Proactiv, Petite Mamselle and Flying Kangaroo were slow out. Horizon Star crossed to the rails soon after the start checking Proactiv. Proactiv checked off the heels of Volandri approaching the first turn. Burra Brae and Flying Kangaroo collided approaching the first turn. Proactiv hit the running rail on the first turn and fell as a result. Dyna Checa checked off the heels of My Wild Courage on the second turn. Petite Mamselle checked off the heels of Horizon Star on the second turn. Volandri and Horizon Star collided entering the home straight.
Proactiv was vetted following the Event and Dr. Raquel Newman, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained neck injuries. Proactiv was subsequently euthenased.
