Awesome Dawn, Little Tunnel and Marbo King were slow out. Simply Bonser crossed to the rails soon after the start checking Bowman Flex and Little Tunnel. Jake's Mentor, Bowman Flex, Simply Bonser and Marbo King collided on the first turn checking Bowman Flex and Marbo King. Jake's Mentor, Simply Bonser and Marbo King collided approaching the second turn checking Simply Bonser and Marbo King. Jake's Mentor, Simply Bonser and Marbo King collided on the second turn checking Simply Bonser. Shelburn and Awesome Dawn collided on the second turn checking Awesome Dawn. Jake's Mentor, Bowman Flex and Marbo King collided entering the back straight checking Jake's Mentor and Marbo King. Shelburn checked off the heels of Jake's Mentor on the third turn. Jake's Mentor was vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that he could find nothing amiss with the greyhound other than a small cut to the mouth. No stand down penalty was applied due to the minor extent of the abrasion. Stewards spoke to Trainer, D. Booby regarding the performance of Jake's Mentor this evening. Mr. Booby told the Stewards that the greyhound trialled well post-to-post at The Meadows last week having raced the second best time of the day, therefore, he believed the greyhound would have a forward showing tonight. Mr. Booby also felt that the greyhound had become severely unbalanced on the first turn. Stewards issued a warning in relation to the manner in which the greyhound raced on the first turn.
