Baywood Warrior checked off the heels of Army Officer approaching the first turn. Trew Believer and Baywood Warrior collided on the first turn. Poetic Choice, Colour Me Happy and Army Officer collided approaching the second turn causing Colour Me Happy to fall checking Baywood Warrior and severely checking Trew Believer. Arvo's Domino and Touch Of Smokey collided on the home turn. Touch Of Smokey eased on the home turn checking Arvo's Domino. Colour Me Happy was vetted following the Event and Dr. Alistair Smith, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right shoulder and left thigh. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Smith, the Stewards will stand Colour Me Happy down from competing for 7 days. Touch Of Smokey was vetted following the Event and Dr. Alistair Smith, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left metacarpal, wrist and right triangle and recommended the greyhound be stood down from competing for 10 days. Stewards charged Touch Of Smokey with contravention of AGRR 80.2 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn. After taking evidence from Handler - Mrs. J. Greenough (representing Trainer - K. Greenough), and taking into account the injuries sustained to the greyhound, the Stewards invoked AGRR 82.1(d) in lieu of AGRR 80.2 and have directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
