Soss was a late scratching 9.25am due to injury. Rebel Juice and Koyuga Strike were slow out. Snowy River Miss and Sir Johnathan collided soon after the start. Kinka Bale and No Assets collided approaching the first turn. Snowy River Miss, Sir Johnathan, Kinka Bale and Ben Willy collided on the first turn, checking Sir Johnathan, Ben Willy, Rebel Juice, Koyuga Strike and No Assets. No Assets and Koyuga Strike collided approaching the home turn with both greyhounds racing wide as a result. Sir Johnathan checked off the heels of Ben Willy in the home straight.
