Long Tally Sally, Big Prince and Seal Garret collided soon after the start. Big Prince and Seal Garret collided approaching the second turn. Long Tally Sally checked off the heels of Oizdon Star approaching the second turn checking Oizdon Star. Settlers Way clipped the heels of Eagleby Diamond approaching the second turn causing it to race wide on the second turn. Big Prince checked off the heels of Eagleby Diamond entering the back straight. Settlers Way checked off the heels of Big Prince on the third turn.
