Sushi's Rose was very slow out. Blaze's Revenge, Gold Arrow, Torlea Tap Out and Juleen were slow out. Gold Arrow crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Torlea Tap Out and Juleen. Gold Arrow clipped the heels of Fang And George approaching the first turn. Gold Arrow and Fang And George collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Torlea Tap Out checked off Juleen on the first turn. Gold Arrow raced wide in the home straight. Torlea Tap Out was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to it's left pencil muscle and right triangle muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards conducted an inquiry into the non-arrival of Mr. J. Formosa, the handler of Juleen to prepare the greyhound for this event. As a result Mr. J. Accurso retrieved the greyhound from the kennels 14 minutes late. Stewards heard evidence from Mr. J. Formosa and Mr. J. Accurso and subsequently charged Mr. J. Formosa with a breach of Rule 86(o) of the Greyhounds Australasian Rules, in that he negligently failed to arrive at the kennels to prepare Juleen for it's engagement in this event. Mr. J. Formosa was fined the sum of $150.00.
