Din's Portrait, Wow and Dern Rutledge were slow out. Din's Portrait checked off the heels of Mepunga Wish on the first turn checking Wow and Dern Rutledge. Go Wild Shirl raced wide approaching the second turn. Din's Portrait checked off the heels of Dern Rutledge on the second turn. Wow checked off the heels of Lee Arna Lu on the third turn checking Mepunga Wish. Wow eased approaching the home turn checking Lee Arna Lu and Go Wild Shirl. Wow and Mepunga Wish collided on the home turn. Mepunga Wish checked off the heels of Wow in the home straight.
Din's Portrait was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to be injured in the left hind, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Acting under AGRR80.2, Stewards charged Wow with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Sandown Park and also directed the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, all tracks, pursuant to AGRR81.1, before any future nomination.
