Steward's Report
Spanish Dude was slow out. Bronze Thong and Bukem Bale collided soon after the start. Bukem Bale, Spanish Dude and Always There collided on the first turn. Bukem Bale and Always There collided approaching the second turn. Bukem Bale eased on the second turn.
Bukem Bale was vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Michelle Brooks, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that she could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Bukem Bale under the provisions of AGRR 80.2 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment on the second turn. After taking evidence from Handler, Joe Briffa (representing Trainer - Graeme Bate), acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Bukem Bale guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.1, the Stewards will stand Bukem Bale down from competing for 28 days at Sandown Park only and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
A swab sample was taken from Paris Bound, the winner of the Event.
