Rose Lawn checked off the heels of Frosty Miller soon after the start. Automize checked off the heels of Frosty Miller on the first turn and raced wide checking Roaming Wild. World Play, Girt and Keep The Justice collided on the first turn causing World Play to lose considerable ground. A swab sample was taken from Pretty Patty, the winner of the Event.

Stewards withdrew Lady Of Avalon from this Event at 1.46 pm after Dr. Craig Forbes, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that Lady Of Avalon had swelling to the left hock and declared the greyhound unfit to compete. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Forbes, the Stewards will stand Lady Of Avalon down from competing for 7 days. No deductions to betting were required. Diesel Man, Hasty Rhythm and Hot Henry were slow out. Diesel Man checked off the heels of Evy's Love soon after the start. Evy's Love and Fly The Coup collided on the first turn. Chilli Creek was vetted following the Event and Dr. Craig Forbes, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Marienberg was also vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Forbes reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Marienberg in contravention of AGRR 80.2 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment entering the home straight. After taking evidence from Handler, Alf Parnis (representing Trainer, C. McLennan), acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Marienberg guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.1, the Stewards will stand Marienberg down from competing for 28 days at The Meadows only and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
