Miss Elmore, Laverton Park, Meet The Parents and Chilli Creek were slow out. Ardell Bale and Chilli Creek collided on the first turn. Chilli Creek galloped on the heels of Honky Dee approaching the second turn severely checking Ardell Bale, Miss Elmore and Laverton Park. Meet The Parents checked off the heels of Marienberg approaching the second turn. Meet The Parents checked off the heels of Honky Dee entering the back straight. Marienberg eased entering the home straight checking Typhoon Terry. Chilli Creek was vetted following the Event and Dr. Craig Forbes, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Marienberg was also vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Forbes reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Marienberg in contravention of AGRR 80.2 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment entering the home straight. After taking evidence from Handler, Alf Parnis (representing Trainer, C. McLennan), acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Marienberg guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.1, the Stewards will stand Marienberg down from competing for 28 days at The Meadows only and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
