Matthew Alipius and Crafty Lee were slow out. Jay Dee Magee and Ima Sly collided soon after the start. Ima Sly checked off the heels of Droopy's Rocket on the first turn. Ima Sly contacted the running rail on the first turn. Matthew Alipius and Flying Bomber collided on the first turn checking Matthew Alipius and Jay Dee Magee. Matthew Alipius, Jay Dee Magee and Flying Bomber collided on the second turn. Kevern veered in and fought Droopy's Rocket approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Droopy's Rocket and Kevern collided in the home straight. Kevern was vetted following the Event and Dr. Wendy Balmain, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that she could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Kevern in breach of AGRR 80.1 for fighting approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. After taking evidence from Trainer, Tom Dailly, acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Kevern guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.2, the Stewards will stand Kevern down from competing for three months on all tracks and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
