Pop's Blaze, Bertundy Joe, Droopy's Rocket and Grey Garth were slow out. Pop's Blaze, Bertundy Joe, Top Fun, Miss Jayvee, Droopy's Rocket, Regal Renegade and Grey Garth collided on the first turn severely checking Pop's Blaze, Bertundy Joe, Miss Jayvee, Droopy's Rocket, Regal Renegade and Grey Garth and causing Top Fun to fall. Pop's Blaze, Miss Jayvee and Regal Renegade collided on the second turn checking Droopy's Rocket. Bertundy Joe brushed the running rail on the second turn. Top Fun was vetted following the Event and Dr. David Stobo, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound was found to be sore in the right shoulder. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Stobo, the Stewards will stand Top Fun down from competing for 5 days. Miss Jayvee was also vetted following the Event and Dr. Stobo reported that the greyhound was found to have a spike wound to the left fore. No stand down penalty was imposed against the greyhound.
