Steward's Report
Freedom Girl was quick to begin.
Aston Cabaret (severely checked on the first turn and fell) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Gigantor (severely checked on the first turn and fell) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury and abrasions to the left back muscle and left and right hind toes. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Freedom Girl (severely checked on the first turn and fell) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Ragin' Cajun (turned its head to the outside approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Matthew Bright regarding Ragin' Cajun’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Ragin' Cajun was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Bright pleaded guilty to the charge. Ragin' Cajun was suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Due to a technical issue there was no first split recorded for this event. The second split was Rug 10 - 9.07 and the 3rd split was Rug 10 - 14.36.
