Steward's Report
A race day sample was taken from Woodshed Albert at the trainer’s kennel earlier today.
Banana Joe – Late scratching at 9:36am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to elevated temperature. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre race sample was taken from Tornado Jack.
Kris Bar Paddy raced wide entering the home straight. Ando's Jae raced wide in the home straight.
Galveston visibly eased in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 5. Galveston was found to have a left wrist sprain and a left hip injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Clayton King regarding Galveston’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Galveston was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. King pleaded guilty to the charge. Galveston was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
