Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Brutus Maximus.
Penny Blue Demon was quick to begin. Jolly Johnny and Bora Burst were slow to begin.
Making Noise (turned head outwards in the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right long head triceps muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. James Forbes regarding Making Noise’s racing manners. After hearing submissions from Mr. Forbes and having their own observations, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied based off the available head-on vision that the greyhound had made head or muzzle contact with Aston Sinatra to its outside. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Making Noise was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Forbes pleaded not guilty to the charge. Making Noise was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat only (first offence) and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
