Steward's Report

An out of competition sample was taken from Ripper Rose on 5/12/23 pursuant to GAR 139.

A sample was taken from Inter Beast Boy upon arrival at the course.    

A pre-race sample was taken from Ripper Rose. 

Mr. Drifter was slow to begin. 

Inter Beast Boy contacted the running rail approaching the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and left hock abrasion. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Ripper Rose turned it's head outwards in the home striaght, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 5. Ripper Rose was found to have left triangle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Jeffery Chignell regarding Ripper Rose’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Ripper Rose was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Chignell pled guilty to the charge, Ripper Rose was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
