In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 35.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.3 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Handler Mr Benny Briffa failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Screeching for racing. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 97(2).

Lyon Bale and Kenny Can Can were quick to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from - Placed 3rd in the event. 

Trespassing and Rough Gem were quick to begin. Intrepid Bale was slow to begin.

Xisco Bale tired over the concluding stages of the event, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Rev Querida – Late scratching at 15:07 when Trainer Thomas Dailly reported the greyhound to have Diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Rie Bale and Bun Tornado were quick to begin. Bomb Neave was slow to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Bun Tornado - the winner of the event. 

Usko Bale was quick to begin. Edgar Cloggs and Thestral were slow to begin. 

Squiggle turned its head to the outside and visibly eased turning off the back straight and marred Bakis Bale from the home turn to the winning post. Squiggle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both calf muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Kathleen Boyle regarding Squiggle’s racing manners from turning off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Squiggle was charged with marring. Ms. Boyle pleaded guilty to the charge. Squiggle was suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Pursuant to GAR 75(6), catching pen attendant Mr Stephen Brincat did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.

Distracting was quick to begin.

Bun Volcano failed to enter the catching pen, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hamstring injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 129 and being mindful of the safety of Bun Volcano, other greyhounds in the race and staff that triage these types of incidents, the Stewards were not satisfied with the performance and placed Bun Volcano on a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 132, with the condition that Bun Volcano needs to run past the return gate and remain in the catching pen to pass the trial.

Flower Soured and Hill Top Jack were slow to begin.

A pre-race sample was taken from Forbes Delight.

Quinnley Bale and Black Tuxedo were slow to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Inner Rush - the winner of the event. 

In accordance with LR 40.2, Mr Cooper Hayes was issued with a warning regarding non–compliance with the GRV Dress Standards.

Sound Of Silence lost ground in the back straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left sesamoid and right back muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
