Steward's Report
Arrival was a late scratching at 8:56am due to injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mr. John Burrow, trainer of Miss Dynamo redeclared a new weight of 24.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miss Dynamo last raced at 25.9kg.
Miss Dynamo was quick to begin. Jack's Wild Fire, Kilty Boy and Claretown Jak collided soon after the start. Bold Caper and Barbarose Boy collided soon after the start. Kilty Boy and Claretown Jak collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Barbarose Boy checked off Bold Caper on the first turn. Miss Dynamo raced wide on the first turn checking Baroness Jill which then galloped on the heels of Miss Dynamo severely checking both greyhounds. Bold Caper raced wide on the first turn, eased and collided with Baroness Jill checking Baroness Jill and Miss Dynamo.
Baroness Jill was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Miss Dynamo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. A.McInnes, the trainer of the greyhound Bold Caper regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Bold Caper was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a graze to the right hind leg, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Bold Caper with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. McInnes pleaded guilty to the charge, Bold Caper was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample taken from Baroness Jill was aborted. A post race sample was subsequently taken.
The All clear for this race was delayed to enable Stewards to view footage of the race to establish the position of the lure on the home turn. Stewards were satisified and the all clear was notified.
