Redding and Classy Boy were slow to begin.
Stinga Rebel and Classy Boy collided soon after the start. Hunter Rocks, Redding and Batmandu collided soon after the start checking Hunter Rocks and Redding. Redding Classy Boy and Stinga Rebel collided approaching the first turn checking Stinga Rebel. Hunter Rocks checked off Uno Whirl entering the back straight. Hunter Rocks and Classy Boy collided in the back straight. Hunter Rocks and Claretown Snowy collided approaching the third turn. Hunter Rocks galloped on the heels of Redding on the third turn checking both greyhounds. Go Jacko Go and Uno Whirl collided several times approaching the home turn. Batmandu and Classy Boy collided approaching the home turn. Claretown Snowy, Redding, Stinga Rebel and Hunter Rocks raced wide in the home straight. Go Jacko Go and Uno Whirl collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post.
