Steward's Report
Zipping Kutcher – Late scratching at 16:12 when Mr Luke Adams reported the greyhound to have a hip Injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Stewards interviewed to Mr Luke Adams, the trainer of Zipping Kutcher in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this race. Mr Adams advised stewards that Zipping Kutcher had sustained a right hip injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Luke Adams regarding the time of the withdrawal of Zipping Kutcher and reminded Mr. Adams that prior to the appointed scratching time of an event a greyhound is engaged to compete in, the greyhound must be examined to ensure that it is free of both injury and Illness GAR 76 (1)(a).
Zipping Kutcher and Kaos Control were slow to begin.
Dr Anne, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Gill regarding the racing manners of Dr. Anne in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Ms Gill, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
There was no head-on vision avaliable in the home straight for this event.
