Shaka Goes Bang, Hartland Prince and Man Of Courage were quick to begin. Daphnee's Gold and Sandy's Rebel were slow to begin.
Go Now, Shaka Goes Bang, Daphnee's Gold, Tornado Jack, Sandy's Rebel and Man Of Courage raced wide entering the home straight.
Sandy's Rebel faltered approaching the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right shoulder injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
