Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Smackdown Shaka.
Smackdown Shaka underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have right hock sprain. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Sharon's Lass turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the event. A post-race post–race veterinary examination revealed no apparent injury. Sharon's Lass was placed on a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 106(1) and pursuant to GAR 132.
I'm A Gizmo marred Joelene Lass in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Kenneth Howat regarding I'm A Gizmo’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, I'm A Gizmo was charged with marring. Mr. Howat pleaded guilty to the charge. I'm A Gizmo was suspended for three months at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
