Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (7) steward D. Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Survivor Sal, Glock and Elizabeth Two were slow to begin. Belinda's Girl and Survivor Sal collided on the first turn, checking Belinda's Girl. Elizabeth Two checked off Freesia Bale enrtering the front straight and raced wide. Glock checked off Black Veil approaching the second turn. Belinda's Girl faltered approaching the second turn and tailed off. Survivor Sal and Freesia Bale collided approaching the third turn. Fressia Bale checked off Glock on the third turn. Survivor Sal and Fressia Bale collided approaching the third turn. Fressia Bale checked off Glock on the third turn. Survivor Sal and Elizabeth Two collided in the back straight. Survivor Sal, Elizabeth Two and Ko Ko Mikado collided on the fourth turn, checking all three greyhounds. Elizabeth Two marred Ko Ko Mikado on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Belinda's Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right tricep injury; a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Elizabeth Two was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right shoulder soreness and left wrist soreness; a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to S. Whyte, the trainer of the greyhound Elizabeth Two regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Elizabeth Two with marring. S. Whyte reserved his plea to the charge. Elizabeth Two was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
