Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Piffin' Yonnies engaged in this event on Tuesday October 24, 2014 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Whatta Brew was quick to begin. Kirabilli George and Thelma's Man were slow to begin. Coulta Mayham and Piffin'Yonnies collided soon after the start. In This Way and Reen's Prince collided on the first turn checking Reen's Prince which collided with Kirabilli George, checking both greyhounds as a result. Kirabilli George and Reen's Prince collided entering the front straight checking both greyhounds. Proven Bolt eased approaching the home turn. Whatta Brew and Proven Bolt collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Proven Bolt was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both shoulder muscles and left triangle muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr B. Keel, Handler of Proven Bolt. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Proven Bolt with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Keel pleaded not guilty to the charge. Proven Bolt was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
