- Secret Spell

- Hostile

- Texas Titan (Res.) engaged in this event on 21st Oct, 2014 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre race sample was taken from Dewana Result.

Secret Spell was quick to begin. Eliza Blanche was slow to begin. Joey Valdez, Hekate Belle, Upset Boy and Weblec Belle collided soon after the start. Dewana Result and Joey Valdez collided approaching the first turn. Joey Valdez checked off Weblec Belle on the first turn, checking Eliza Blanche. Upset Boy checked off Hekate Belle on the first turn. Eliza Blanche checked off Hekate Belle approaching the second turn. Upset Boy checked off Eliza Blanche on the second turn. Joey Valdez raced wide entering the home straight. Secret Spell eased approaching the winning post.

Secret Spell was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left extensor muscles, soreness to the right calf and sandburns to the left hind and right front; a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Secret Spell with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). The representitive B. Bravo pleaded not guilty to the charge, Secret Spell was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. B. Bravo regarding his conduct during the inquiry relating to Secret Spell (GAR 91(c)).

A sample was taken from Secret Spell, the winner of the event.

A sample was taken from Hostile, placed 2nd in the event. Stewards noted that the trainer of Hostile, Darren Beasley, had a concern with the security of the kennel bay during the sample process. After considering the matter Stewards were satisfied to proceed with the taking of the sample.
