M. Puleio, trainer of Ricky Fields redeclared a new weight of 33.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ricky Fields last raced at 33.5kg.
Kingston Regal and Black Jaymar were quick to begin. Ricky Fields, Bergaz and Dyna Treason were slow to begin. Lone Survivor crossed out and Yazz crossed in approaching the first turn, checking Blue Ranger. Bergaz and Dyna Treason collided approaching the first turn. Lone Survivor checked off Yazz on the first turn, checking Blue Ranger. Bergaz and Dyna Treason raced wide and collided on the first turn.
Ricky Fields was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right calf injury, a right hamstring injury and spkie wounds to the left and right hind and the right front; a 7 days stand down period was imposed.
