Steward's Report
Tackifire was slow to begin.
Nitrofied checked off Big Boy McEvoy on the first turn. Demolition Guy checked off Culminate on the second turn checking Claretown Clyde.
Demolition Guy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Nitrofied was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
A sample was taken from Big Boy McEvoy - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Riseley the trainer of Culminate regarding why the greyhound raced without a muzzle. Mr Riseley stated that shortly prior to the start, the lead on the greyhound became adrift and subsequently dislodged the muzzle. He added that he was unaware that the muzzle had become dislodged as he was focused on restraining the greyhound. Stewards charged Mr. Riseley with a breach of GAR86(o) in that he was negligent as he failed to ensure the greyhound Culminate carried a muzzle during the running of the event.
Mr. Riseley pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Mr. Riseley was found guilty and fined the sum of $200.
